Low Electric Magnetic Field Technology

low emf - General Information

What are Electric Magnetic Fields?

Electric and magnetic fields (EMF) are invisible lines of force that surround any
electrical device. Power lines, electrical wiring, and electrical equipment all produce
EMF.Electric fields are produced by voltage that increases in strength as the voltage
increases. Magnetic fields result from the flow of current through wires or electrical
devices and increase in strength as the current increases. Most electrical equipment has to be turned on, i.e., current must be flowing, for a
magnetic field to be produced. Electric fields, however, are often present even when
the equipment is switched off, as long as it remains connected to the source of electric
power. Brief bursts of EMF can also occur when electrical devices are turned on
or off.

Even though electrical equipment, appliances, and power lines produce both electric
and magnetic fields, most recent research has focused on the potential health
effects of magnetic field exposure.
This attention to safety has been a key element in the design of Microlife?s Heating
Pads, with the latest wiring technology incorporated producing very low EMF.
