Microlife's PAD technology automatically detects pulse arrhythmias during a blood pressure measurement.
The PAD technology (Pulse Arrhythmia Detection) analyses pulse frequency and detects irregular pulse arrhytmias during blood pressure measurements. If an irregular heart beat occurs during the measurement, the PAD symbol is displayed.
In most cases, this is no cause for concern. However, if the symbol appears on a regular basis (e.g. several times a week with measurements taken daily) we advise patients to tell their doctor.
Microlife blood pressure monitors with PAD Technology can detect pulse arrhythmias during a blood pressure measurement. It is important for the doctor because the measured blood pressure might have been affected by the pulse arrhythmia. In case of frequent pulse arrhythmia e.g. several times per week on measurements performed daily, it is recommended to consult the doctor to check the EGK.
Microlife blood pressure monitors measure with great precision, allowing your doctor to adjust your medication accurately.
